Your stay in Mende
Mende is the capital of the Lozère department. It is also the economic and administrative capital. The town of Mende is the centre of the department, so it is very easy from Mende to explore different regions of Lozère: the upper valley of the Lot, the Cevennes, the Gorges of Tarn, the Causses and Margeride. Mende is also a sporting and tourist town with many amenities. Exit the A75 motorway at junction 39.1. For more information, see the website of Mende..
Your stay in La Canourgue
At the border of Lozère and Aveyron, La Canourgue has a proud reputation. Sometimes called the ‘Venice of Lozère’ for its canals that crisscross the town centre, it becomes in summer a cultural centre with numerous events and sees the return of locals who have left the area. Located in the Lot Valley, it has a privileged access to the Gorges of Tarn, the Grands Causses and the plateau of Aubrac. It is also served by the A75 motorway and the now famous viaduct of Millau. For more information, visit the website of La Canourgue.
